Patient Instructions For the Hospital
Preoperative Clearance for Hospital Dental Treatment:
Clearance from your physician is required to have dental care under general anesthesia in the hospital setting.
- A preoperative exam will need to be scheduled with the patient’s physician to obtain the clearance.
- DO NOT schedule the preoperative exam until you have been contacted by our Hospital
Scheduling Coordinator. - Preoperative clearance is only valid for 30 days, so our Hospital Scheduling Coordinator will instruct you when to schedule the preoperative exam with your physician.
- Obtain a copy of the preoperative clearance report from your physician and either fax it to 918-352-2681 or email it to debbiejo@drumrightdentalcenter.com
Day Before Dental Treatment at the Hospital:
- On the day before the dental treatment, the patient cannot have anything to eat or drink after midnight.
- No water, no soup, no candy, absolutely nothing.
On the Morning of Dental Treatment at the Hospital:
- Procedures are performed at Drumright Regional Hospital, 610 Bypass, Drumright, OK 74030
- Do not brush the patient’s teeth and do not let the patient have anything in his/her mouth (no gum, mints, absolutely nothing…)
- Bring an extra change of clothing to the appointment just in case they are needed.
- Young children must have an age-appropriate car seat to be discharged from Drumright
Regional Hospital. - Bring the patient’s medical insurance card to the Drumright Regional Hospital so they can make a copy of the card for their records.
- Parents must bring his/her ID to the Drumright Regional Hospital. A guardian must bring legal guardianship papers.
- Adult Patients may take blood pressure, seizure and behavior medications with no more than 30cc’s of water.
