Instructions Following Dental Treatment
If you received anesthetic (or numbing) at your visit today, please be conscious as to not accidentally bite your lips, cheek, or tongue. Refrain from eating until the numbness wears off.
- If treatment included extractions or bone grafts:
-
Avoid drinking through a straw, smoking or using any tobacco products even after the numbness is gone. Only eat softer foods for the first couple days or until you feel capable of chewing. Avoid alcohol and carbonated beverages or anything above room temperature.

- If treatment included a crown and you are currently wearing a temporary:
-
Avoid anything chewy, sticky, or hard that might cause the temporary to come off or break. If this does happen please let us know so we can replace the temporary as soon as possible. Loss of temporary without replacing it may cause complications with seating the permanent crown. It takes approximately three weeks to receive crown back from lab.
