Dr. Robert H. Melton, DDS. MAGD, MBA
Dr. Melton graduated with honors from the University of Missoui, Kansas City with a Doctor of Dental Surgery. He opened his first dental practice in Drumright in 1972. In 1976 he sold his practice and entered the University of Nebraska Medical Center for two years of specialty training in pediatric dentistry. For 13 years Dr. Melton practiced in Springfield, MO exclusively as a pediatric dentist.
Dr. Melton holds a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), a distinction only attained by approximately 1 percent of dentists in the nation. He has served on the national board of trustees of the American Society of Dentistry for Children. He currently serves as Immediate Past President of the Oklahoma Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Melton completed a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Dr. Melton has actively practiced dentistry for 39 years.
At the new “state of the art” Cimarron Surgical Care Center, Co-owner Dr. Melton performs dental care for young children and special needs adults under general anesthetic. Licensed for Pediatric Conscious Sedation, Dr. Melton, along with surgery staff, provide this service for patients referred from a multi-county region.
A native Oklahoman, Dr. Melton was born and raised in Okemah. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelors Degree in Pre-Medical Science. Dr. Melton returned to Drumright in 1991 opening the general dentistry practice, Drumright Dental Center. Dr. Melton has encouraged and facilitated the dental careers of many local Drumright students. Dr. Melton is a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and a member of the Drumright Lions Club.
Dr. Melton and his wife Kathy enjoy traveling and working together. They especially enjoy annual mission trips where they provide dentistry services in third world countries. The Meltons have four grown children.
